William Jones, 27, was found inside a vehicle by Metropolitan Police Department officers with multiple gunshot wounds shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Monday night in the 2600 block of Bowen Road when they heard gunshots ring out.
The Laurel resident was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.
A second man was also found in the area who had been shot, according to a department spokesperson. He was taken by DC Fire and EMS personnel to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.
His condition was not available on Tuesday.
No information about a possible shooter or motive has been released.
